Chalet cravings

The temps are creeping up here in Singapore.  January was delectably, wonderfully, enchantingly cool here but the sun is BACK with a vengeance.  Sounds like I’m bragging but trust me I am not – I have northern English genes and they do not do well in the tropics, ha.

Anyhoo so I’ve been having a bit of a hankering for some cooler weather and {as ermm always} Euro vibes – some deliciously designed ski chalets fit the bill nicely!

I looked at the work of Nicky Dobree a long long time ago now {when I seemingly did not own Photoshop…} {and also I don’t know why the hell all my old posts are now in all caps?!  Looks like I used to be really really angry about everything…I digress}.  Her portfolio has only gone and got even better I am happy to report.  Full of gorgeous horn light fixtures, cheeky plaids, luxe velvets, fur, exposed brickwork and slate wall treatments, rustic beamwork, leather and linens galore, and more fireplaces than you can shake a stick {err…log?) at.  YUM.  Feast your peepers.

I understand you, I also don’t do well in the tropics – but sometimes I choose some places to visit and then suffer a lot with the sun and heat. I looooved these pictures, what for a great work! I loved the bathroom and the bunk beds with curtains – I love kind of “hidden” spaces, where I can “close” myself and meditate 🙂

I have a large square tub in front of a window, but not a beautiful view. I wonder if there is some kind of cling, or window paint, or stained glass I can have installed that mimics a gorgeous view, but still gives me privacy so the neighbors don’t see me bathing?
