Design classic (30) – Acapulco chair

Morning folks and Happy Friday!   I thought for today’s design classic I’d have a little peek at the fun and quirky Acapulco chair.

The chair was first produced in the 1950s and was designed by, they say, some French tourist on hols in Mexico with an overheating bot.  Made of vinyl cords strung onto a metal frame, this iconic design now comes in a whole bunch of colours and is a gorgeous bright tropical addition to any space.

So here are my fave inspo piccies, make sure you leave me a comment to let me know which is your fave!

Have a happy weekend loves!

  1. I think all that you chose is beautiful, the black and light blue, the yellow and the coral,I think this is a great chair for a sea house, when you come back from the beach and want to lay down on something cold with a cup of cold orange juice 😛 But I am not going to speak about cold, I know you are suffering now 😛
Thank for the appreciation, dear Elly, I am glad you liked my post. I am not doing interesting things this weekend: I am participating today and tomorrow at a lawyer conference, bleah :)))) Have a great weekend!

  2. Alistair says:

I have a hot bot right now, so one of these would be handy in our home! And I like the first chair with the dude with a newspaper. Very relaxing!
