Confused kitchens (farmhouse sinks)

So I don’t know about you peeps but I have a bit of a thang for farmhouse sinks.  Not sure what it is exactly about them but they evoke this kinda nostalgic feeling for me, make me think of the green fields of home or some such rubbish – bit of a nincompoop really I suppose…

However they have one downside: we do not all have a giant rustic farmhouse kitchen to add one too.  They can often look a smidge out of place but I’ve rounded up my fave inspo piccies showing them in a more contemporary/industrial setting.  I will get my mittos on one of these one day, mark my words.

Seriously head over heels for the stainless steel / dark cabinetry / wicker basket action on the RHS here:

And you know I can never say no to exposed brick…

Gorgeous application of le Tolix stool – see here for more of its big sis, the Tolix Chair:

This whole space is kinda confused I think – 4 parts rustic (cabinetry, beams), 1 part super-modern (subway tiling) and 1 part industrial (lighting) – but what can I say, I like ’em  interesting:

And can we please all take a moment to gawp at this insane marble specimen below left:

Yep, I almost want to eat it it’s that good:

I like the idea of these really large sinks, especially if you’re really into cooking and make use of your kitchen a lot (I fall into this category.) I have no clue why this is the first time I am seeing them. I was just telling a friend today to get onto your blog for inspiring decor ideas. Wishing you a wonderful and relaxing weekend!
