Monday’s Masterpiece – an industrial edge

Morning peeps, happy Monday!

I thought today I’d share some piccies of a delish industrial New York-style resto here in Singapore, that we checked out a few weekends ago with some chums, East 8.  I’d really recommend it actually – fantastic decor and very good food (but have a big lunch unless you are smurf-size, the hubs had to have a curry when we got home…).

They’ve got the industrial chic look down pat, but it was the lighting that really floored me – enough pipe wall sconces, dangling lightbulbs and minimalist pendants to turn the head of even the most traditional design geek.

So I thought I would go a-hunting for some more industrial lighting inspiration.  Here’s what I found…

And they’re also pretty faaabulous in event design – see here:

What do you think?  Do tell!

  1. This is my type of space – seriously. I love the vibe of New York City, and this restaurant captures it so perfectly! This is how I want to decorate my future apartment – the urban aesthetic is divine! 🙂

  2. Elly, I am not keen on industrial pubs/bars, but this lights you choose are killing me. So, just a little bit of industrial inspiration for me, ok?That space with a lot of lights and the blue wall is so beautiful! Happy Monday, dear!

That actually looks like its in the heart of New York! I think these lighting schemes are great for social spaces, they add such interest, modernity and drama.Thank you so much for taking the time to visit 🙂 I appreciate your comments!

  4. Alistair says:

Some magnificent pics – I love the look, and it works surprisingly well in the otherwise more traditional spaces also.
