One rather large dose of eye candy – part 2

Haaaaappy Friday people!  It’s been a great and productive week here in HK, we’re getting settled in and busy busy busy.  How have your weeks been?  Plans for le weekend?

I thought today I’d follow up yesterday’s Bali-fest with two room designs: one luxe option and one slightly more budget-y.  They’re based loosely around our stay at the Temple Lodge in Bingin, the best hotel we stayed at of the whole trip.

Feast your peepers on these snaps!

There were beautiful old carved wooden doors built into everything – I fell in love with this vignette (wish I’d moved the fan though, ha):

The mosquito net beams were hung from the ceiling, which is just a totally genius way of creating a canopy bed feel at a lower expense.  And check out these tie-backs – they are BONKERS beautiful:

Our pool + thatched cabana, and another amazing door at the entrance to the suite:

I may have spent quite a lot of time on this daybed…

And this is the outdoor bathroom.  That huge stone column acts as the shower screen and the door in the LH pic leads to a little dressing ara where you have to keep everything, to stop the monkeys taking it…

The entire bathroom was so well designed – loads of gorgeous wooden flooring, pebbles and stone walls, and bamboo/thatch roofing.

And here are the main areas of the hotel – a beautiful infinity pool with views over the Indian Ocean, and a quirkily-designed dining area complete with carved wood benches, ‘twig chandeliers’ and gorgeous textiles:

Seriously, that place was bananas.

So here are my shopping guides…

{ canopy bed, cushionstable lamp, sheer fabric, buddha, daybed, daybed cushion, rug, hurricane lamp }

Or if you’re feeling more flush with cash, here’s a slightly more upmarket version:

{ canopy bed, sheer fabric, cushions, Sunbrella fabric, daybed, hurricane lamp, table lamp, stone wall carving }

Now I just ned to get my hands on a Balinese property or two to have a go…
