Glamping in Nepal

So as you read this we’ll just about be coming to the end of our week long white water rafting trip (and hopefully will have not been eaten by any crocs – please cross your fingers and toes) and now have a few days in Bardia National Park going on safari!

It’s not really something that springs to mind when you think of Nepal, but we’re hoping to see tigers and rhinos atop our elephant:

There are a bunch of different accommodation options in the park, ranging from £5 budget digs to luxury tented camps.  And guess what!!  We are lucky enough to be staying at both: two nights in a cute little bungalow thing, and then two nights at Karnali Lodge, part of the Tiger Tops collection of boutique lodges and camps in Nepal.  I’ll report back in a few days when I’m able to get to an internet cafe, but in the meantime I thought that today I would show you the Nepalese take on luxe lodges/glamping.

Not bad, eh?!

  1. Wow Elly, your travels are so far removed from daily life, it’s wonderful to see what you guys are up to. The elephant trek is going to be amazing I’m so envious. It reminds me that life is too short and we should all be doing the stuff you are doing, question is, what am I going to do about it?

I’m really looking forward to your next instalment x

  2. Lauren says:

My husband always teases me that I like the camp the “Out of Africa” way, and I respond by saying “Aren’t you glad I brought my china and my crystal?” That looks like a blast to me! Can’t wait to hear how it turned out!
