I came across this pic on Houzz the other day and it stopped me dead in my tracks:
I usually don’t go for such a girly feminine style but this bling-tastic powder room designed by Kendall Wilkinson is making me totally reassess. I have to say this vignette doesn’t seem to be representative of her usual aesthetic, but she does bring bucketloads of modern glamour and effortless chic to everything she touches.
Her signature style seems to be all about the use of bold colour and layering beautiful antiques with more modern pieces – even though her portfolio seems pretty diverse I think these influences shine through alongside her love of French fashion and crisp tailored lines.
I came across this quote in an interview, which I thought I’d share with you folks as it’s pretty inspirational I reckon:
“As Coco Chanel once said, “In order to be irreplaceable one must always be different.” Explore your passions….be bold and unique.”
Anyway, here are some other beauts from her portfolio. I’m going giddy over this teal/tangerine combo – check out the zebra print stools and stencilled headboard:
Another glam powder room:
And I’m feeling a lot of love for these gorgeously extravagant light fixtures:
I think these ones might be by Ochre:
This mirrored screen/wall mural/elegant chaise combo is pretty stunning:
I spy a Maya Romanoff mother of pearl wall treatment, *sh-wing*:
Loving this delicate lilac shade with the sisal rug, and that mirror is ruddy lovely:
And a couple of grand-but-glam more masculine rooms:
She has a boutique, Kendall Wilkinson Design & Home, in San Francisco:
And a few pieces from her homewares line are available via 1stDibs:
One day when I am rich and famous that chandelier shall be mine [insert evil cackle…]. Ahem, ok I’m feeling inspired to up the French-style-glamour factor of my projects. Watch this space!
